A hybrid version of the 2012 Honda Fit  might not be available at Hillside Honda in Jamaica, NY, but an all electric version from the Japanese auto maker is being tested throughout China.

Honda Motors began testing their EV fleet thanks to the governments of Guangzhou and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd.  

For the testing, Fit EVs are taken through real-world urban environments to witness their practicality, as well as identify technological issues. These tests will also help the company set up where recharge points should be installed.

As the report states: EVs will be driven on local streets to reproduce a real-world usage environment to identify the vehicle's potential technological issues. Through the monitoring of daily driving by general users, range per charge and charging patterns (frequency and location) will be confirmed.¹
